EF2 June Update: Progress In The Face Of Minimal Free Time!

Hello everybody! It has been, frankly, a rough few weeks over here- I tabled at Rhode Island Anime Con, sandwiched right in between two weeks of overtime. When I wrote this period’s list of goals, I was optimistic about what I’d be able to get done when I arrived at yesterday… And as one might imagine, I didn’t exactly have it in me to buckle down and complete tasks at the tail end of all that. I got some household stuff done, and that’s about all I had in me. So, what’s the list looking like?

  • Another character zone: Not done, started on Bea’s a bit but could not get into the flow, and a minor injury at work made it a lot harder to hold the felting needle- don’t worry, all healed now.

  • Digitize at least one zone as well: Done! I actually DID get into the flow on this and digitized two, so that’s one less task for next dev period.

  • Finish all first convos for Jane: Not quite done. All her first convos with other characters are, but there are two more just between her and Ame that need to be written to mark this complete.

  • Finish at least 3 other convos: This one is done though!

So, not entirely a bust, despite it all. It’s unfortunate to say as well that things are not slowing down nearly as much as I’d like within the next few weeks- while I’m no longer hitting overtime, that job still has me scheduled for twice as many hours as I’m supposed to be next week, another job dropped a bunch of work on me without consulting me about availability or locations at all, and I’ve got another table coming up at Portcon Maine. Even so, I’ll set the goals and strive for them!

  • Two more character zones (Bea’s that I started earlier, and one more)

  • Implement a zone

  • Implement the voice acting that I have

I do have these goals in mind, but also, artfight is approaching! So I’ll need to spend some time preparing for that as well. As much as it pains me each year to step away from actively working on EF2 in the month of July, I do find it a net benefit to hone my skills while also getting some fun pieces of the characters to share with you here! If you want to make an art trade with me next month, you can find me here: https://artfight.net/~nhitori

Though, if things keep being chaotic in my everyday life, there’s no guarantee I’ll keep up there either, but I’m going to try! And I’ll leave you with another attack I received in 2024 of Greta by luucalio~

In any case, I’ll be doing my best with everything. Thank you, as always, for reading- I’ll see you next time!

Entropic Float 2 December Update #1: Backgrounds!

Hello everybody! It’s midway through December- That means it’s update time! With everything going on this month, I did set smaller goals, with plans to catch up in January if those still fell short. So far this month… Draw the remaining backgrounds necessary for area 4 - Done! Sharing one of those below~ Draw characters for the Area 4 backgrounds - Partially complete! I’ve sketched them into their positions, but have yet to finish them fully. So, mostly on track! Since I did get started on the characters, I’ll carry that goal into the rest of the month, though I’m also still working on making gifts for the people in my life, and completing holiday season etsy orders for others! This is the usual stuff of December, and regular work has also been busier this year than it usually is this month (as mentioned last update) so I’m doing my best. If only gamedev paid the bills… EF2 might be done by now if I could afford to focus only on it! This period’s backgrounds are, as mentioned bef...

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

The Haunting Of Kurumi Mori: Spooktober 2025 Entry! (And An EF2 Check-In)

The Haunting Of Kurumi Mori Is Now Available! This is an entry to the Spooktober 2025 Visual Novel Jam- Made by myself and an amazing team (PrinxeCatqueer, TollingBells, and Chaotic_ERROR with additional beta testing by Quartoch!) entirely within the month of September! And oh boy, am I ever pleased with the result. It might not be one of those games that you wonder 'how was this made for a gamejam', but I'm proud of how our hard work came together to create this lovely little side-game set in the Entropic Float universe. It's a standalone story, but there's a subtle cameo-mention of a character you know and love, and this game will introduce you to a couple of characters whose stories will eventually intersect with that of our heroes. Now, as for Entropic Float 2- I'll admit it was a smart, if painful, move for me to take this hiatus from sharing updates. My summer was stressful in a hundred different ways, and I genuinely don't think I could have even mana...
