EF2 December Update 2: Happy New Year!

First off- I delayed this update by a couple days so that I could post on New Year’s Eve! Here’s a themed doodle of Bea for the occasion!

2025 has been a chaotic and challenging year, for a whole lot of reasons, so I’m happy to welcome 2026 and hope that it’s a little bit kinder to me and to the development process of Entropic Float 2. I feel it’s promising on that front though! Let’s take a look back at this month’s goals, as much as I was able to fit them around the holidays.

  • Draw characters for the Area 4 backgrounds: This is done!

  • Draw and implement Objekts for Area 4: They’re drawn, and they’re partially implemented!

  • Make the assets for another character zone: I didn’t get to this one, I did a bit too much crafting this month to have the juice left for it, but January should be different~

So, I got a fair bit done! The Objekt implementation is a matter of- They’re implemented for the inventory, but not entirely in the environments, because I failed to remember that none of the backgrounds for Area 4 were implemented yet either! So I got started on that process, but it was just a bit of a larger task than expected. This one’s not any kind of a challenge, it just takes some time, so that too will definitely be done in January. Honestly it will probably be done in the next few days, but I already delayed this update a few days for silly holiday reasons, so we’ll just have to wait till next time to report that!

More importantly, as we head into the new year- This is a full set of digital assets for Areas one through four! Three pages of inventory items completely filled in and every environment ready to use- What remains necessary for an early beta are just physical art for character zones, code, and in-game text. The latter two of those promise to come pretty quick once I’m able to get into a focus state with them. Progress numbers on character conversations will soon be rocketing up! With that in mind, let’s set some January goals. By 1/11, let’s shoot to…

  • Finish implementing Area 4 Environments (Backgrounds, objekts, characters)

  • Make the assets for a character zone, for real this time!

And then by 1/25…

  • Write 6 conversations

  • Make the assets for another character zone

  • Implement a key item

And as per usual, if I do happen to complete the goals for the first half of the month early, I’ll jump right into the second list~ I think in January that’s plausible, and maybe February too? I know February ended up being a remarkably productive development month for me last year, so we’ll have to see what happens.

With that- Thank you, as always, for reading! See you next time~

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
