Happy Halloween! EF2 October Update~

Hello! A few days later than I said I’d update again- Happy Halloween!

I delayed the update so that I could be truly on theme when sharing this lovely piece of art from the ever-amazing Soyokaze! Twelve members of the EF2 Cast are waiting in the candy bucket- Pick out your favorite Halloween costume of the bunch!!

So, moving forward- How about those goals from last time?

  • Complete at least 5 more backgrounds - Done! I’ll share one of these below~
  • Get the conversation progress number up to 40/590 - We’re at 39/590 which I think is close enough to call it a success.
  • Finish up the three Objekts I currently have in the WIP files folder - Done!

The next update will be on Sunday 11/16, just a smidge over two weeks from the update today. So, let’s go over the goals for this period!

  • Complete at least 3 more backgrounds
  • Write at least 6 more standard conversations- This being conversations only between Ame and the character, not involving another ally, so they only increment the counter by 1~
  • Create the assets for one Character Zone

This list might seem a bit more specific than usual- That’s because the game is actually getting a lot closer than you might think to being ready for an early round of beta players! Only the first four areas, out of the planned eight total, would be accessible, and I’m working towards making those four areas functional for early testing. Kickstarter backers are welcome to reach out if interested in playing an early build! This test would mostly be looking for things that are not working right rather than full-blown playtesting- That will come later! But if you’re interested in a taste of what’s to come, while looking for things I might’ve screwed up, let me know.

While I’m at it, here are the goals for the rest of November, which I will as usual start if things go particularly well in the earlier portion of the month.

  • Complete the other three backgrounds remaining in the WIP folder
  • Write another 5 standard conversations
  • Finish drawing every ref that Shoii needs for the remaining memory CGs

And that’s all for now! Thank you, as always, for reading- See you again soon!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
