EF2 October Update 1: We're back!

Hi everybody! I already made a small update announcing the release of our Spooktober project, The Haunting Of Kurumi Mori, but this is our first real update back from the hiatus! As mentioned, I was still working on the game when I could, but I was also very busy. So, what got done?

Writing! I mostly just squeezed in writing character conversations when I got the chance. Keeping in mind that the number increments twice for conversations involving multiple characters- We're still 19 steps closer to having a detailed and involved world here! I also have made progress on drawing backgrounds, but not anything I can quantify yet- I mostly worked on lining sketches, rather than coloring and rendering, so while a fair few backgrounds are closer to finished, no more of them are finished than before.

So, with that out of the way, let's set some actual goals for the rest of October! My next devlog will be on 10/25 (And will be the first one posted to kickstarter since the hiatus!) so let's make these next two weeks count! I've still got a plate piled pretty high with my regular work, so I can't promise the moon or anything, but here's what I'm hoping for:

  • Complete at least 5 more backgrounds
  • Get the conversation progress number up to 40/590
  • Finish up the three Objekts I currently have in the WIP files folder

So, while I don't have any game images to share this update, I definitely will with the next! In the meantime, this artfight attack of CROWNPRIMROSE from my good friend tinypaperhats will have to do~

Thank you as always for reading, and I'll be back soon with hopefully a whole lot more to share!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
