EF2 November Update #2 : Backgrounds and Sketch-Refs!

Hi everybody! It's the end of November, so it's time for another update! It also marks two years since the successful Kickstarter to cover the CGs and Voicework of the game. I'll admit that I hoped to be further in development by now, but balancing life with a project of this scale has proven to be more of a challenge than anticipated. Still, I'm so grateful to have had that boost early on in the process, and will continue doing my best!

So, how about those goals from last time?

  • Complete the other three backgrounds remaining in the WIP folder:  Done!
  • Write another 5 standard conversations:  Didn't end up happening-
  • Finish drawing every ref that Shoii needs for the remaining memory CGs: Yes! One for CROWNPRIMROSE as a little kid below~

I'd like to think I kept up okay, though I've still been falling short in the writing department, that should swing all the way back around pretty soon- Once I catch up on all the art needed for the first four areas, these conversations will just start coming!

Going into December, I've traded one priority over gamedev for another- the holidays are coming up, and I've got a lot of people to handcraft gifts for. Something I've barely been able to get started on with everything else going on... So I'll need to put some focus on that for a bit! I do also have two artist tables during the month- Fandom Flea on 12/6 and Cosplay Ugly Sweater Party on 12/20 - The exact weekends in between the December updates I'll be making! So, while my focus will be divided, I've still got some goals for the month. I'll be doing my best, but worst case scenario, I should have my chance to catch up in January! So, the goals for the midpoint:
  • Draw the remaining backgrounds necessary for area 4 (1 through 3 are now complete excluding one easter egg for area 1 that doesn't need to be included in the early beta)
  • Draw characters for the Area 4 backgrounds

And the goals for the rest of the month:
  • Draw and implement Objekts for Area 4
  • Make the assets for another character zone

Short lists this time, nice and manageable for the season, and then it'll just be conversations and zones left to get an early beta playable~ That's all I've got for you today. Thank you, as always, for reading, and I'll update again soon!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
