BIG NEWS FIRST-
“Not Your Cherry Sundae” by Renfield Future has finally released! The ability to create this song by the in-universe band was made possible with a Kickstarter stretch goal, which covered the costs of composition and recording- But it took a bit longer for me to be able to order the cover image commission. It’s well worth the wait. Rex Rosario’s vocals and Soyokaze’s art make for a wonderful music video!
Moving along to the actual development update, let’s look at the previous update’s goals.
Complete at least 3 more backgrounds: Done! Again, I’ll share one below.
Write at least 6 more standard conversations: Well, I was able to write two of them- Not a big enough advancement to share a progress bar this time.
Create the assets for one Character Zone: Done! Everything’s created for Jane’s zone (and the puzzles are function-checked), the other step is to digitize those assets and implement the minigame. One down!
If you’re wondering why I fell so short on that conversation goal- Well, another priority presented itself to me that I had to split my attention with. The difficult thing with the level of gamedev that I’m on is that it can’t get my full attention- Often that has to do with my two day jobs, but this time, it’s the etsy shop. It’s November, which means that the steepest manufacturer discounts of the year are coming up- I failed to account for time I’d need to spend designing in advance of the sale when I made my gamedev goals for the month. Even so, let’s see the goals for the next half!
Complete the other three backgrounds remaining in the WIP folder
Write another 5 standard conversations
Finish drawing every ref that Shoii needs for the remaining memory CGs
In consideration of the other things I’m working on, the writing might fall short again- It’s a lot easier to draw for EF2 in tandem with drawing for the Fan Niche than it is to switch fully between tasks. Even so, I’m not amending these goals- I’m still shooting to succeed!
That’s all for now- Thank you as always for reading, and enjoy the song!
