EF2 January Update 1: Area 4 is Implemented!

Hello! It’s January eleventh, which means it’s time for a development check-in! A quick update this time-  Let’s jump right in with a look at the goals for these first eleven days of the year:

  • Finish implementing Area 4 Environments (Backgrounds, objekts, characters): Completed!

  • Make the assets for a character zone: Partially completed!

So- Area 4 is fully functional now, and I also got to implementing the other environments that still needed to be added back into the earlier areas, like the riverbank in Area 1. As for the character zone, I made good progress, just not the exact progress I planned on. I took the time to sit down and determine the actual designs for a number of zones I hadn’t finalized yet. And I got the prep done for several zones (example below!), just didn’t get as far as completing them yet. So hopefully, in my next update, I’ll have two or potentially three asset sets ready~

So, to slightly modify the goals for the next part of the month, what I’ll be doing my best to complete before 1/25:

  • Write 6 conversations

  • Finish the assets for at least two character zones

  • Implement a key item

  • Finish implementing supplementary environments

Definitely still doable, even though my January has already followed in December’s footsteps of becoming quickly busier than I was expecting… That’s life! Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll continue doing my best, and I should have some more stuff to share with you all later this month! Thank you, as always, for reading. Have a great day!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
