Entropic Float: This World Will Decay And Disappear.
Entropic Float is a visual novel regarding the experiences of fourteen people who've been trapped inside a magical construct known as the Anomalous Clocktower. Missing memories of how they came to be there, certain aspects of their past life, and of course, every loop but the current one, can those who awakened inside the anomaly find a way out?
Step into the shoes of Rashmi Jamil, Kanatsun, and Amelie Macon at different times of day as you seek a resolution. In each loop, you'll also be challenged to make the right decisions to overcome Entropy, in the hopes that the protagonists' memories might make it through to another version of themselves if the loop doesn't end in tragedy.
Game Details
Entropic Float is currently in actively development, and I'll be doing my best to make biweekly development posts on this site up to and following the game's release.
This game is a Visual Novel created using the Ren'Py Python Engine, and graphics made utilizing Illusion's Koikatsu, an 18+ game with a robust character creator and posing studio which has been widely repurposed for SFW use. Due to my use of Koikatsu for the graphics, EF will be free to download upon release. If you wish to financially support me independently of this, a link to my other platforms can be found in this site's navigation.
Entropic Float does not have any unconventional gameplay elements for a visual novel. Although there are puzzles in the story, those puzzles will be solved regardless of player choices. The game will access the player's system time, as well as the choices the player makes, in order to determine routes and endings.
Entropic Float will have Nine Regular Routes and One True Route. Each regular route has two different endings based on player choice. After finding all eighteen regular endings, the player will unlock the true route.
The Game's Accessibility Features:
- Entropic Float is only partially voiced, but Ren'Py games include an option for the visually impaired to have a TTS voice narrate the game for you. This is the "V" key on the keyboard.
- After unlocking any four endings, the player will be permitted to manually set the in-game time rather than have their system time used. There are six endings accessible in any one timeslot, so this should be easy enough.
- After unlocking the first ending on a route, the player has three options. They can return to the beginning of the game, to the beginning of the route, or jump immediately to the branching point for that route's other ending. I recommend returning to the beginning of the route, as I put a lot of effort into the results of each choice, but I understand if players are short on time.
- There will be a spoiler-free text walkthrough included with the game download.
All of this information can also be found on the 'About' page of this site. Information on the characters can be found on the 'Characters' page, of course! My biweekly updates will be announced on my twitter, tumblr, and discord, which can all be found on my Links page. Thank you very much for your time, and I hope you'll all follow along with me as I continue to work hard on this game!
