Entropic Float Biweekly Update #22

Malcolm's never been in the featured art here before, has he? Well, here he is now! Specifically, this art of Malcolm is a little more smooth in the face and rough around the edges, since this is a CG of him as a young adult.

It's by Fish on Skeb! Ah, it's been great being able to get all of this nice art commissioned for the game. It's a good thing the game's almost ready, then, since I plan to leave my day job for a lower-paying one which is more flexible with my health conditions. A factor of my life which is most definitely reflected in the plot of Entropic Float...

Anyway. This is the last update I've got for you before release! Yeah, we're just thirteen days away! Less than two weeks, since these updates are on alternating Sundays and release is on a Saturday! I hope you're all excited to finally play it.

My goal progress from last time:
Receive and act on remaining bug reports Done!
Assemble and implement end credits Done!

My goals for next time:
Receive or pinch-hit myself if commissions don't make it in for the remaining 4 CG images
Get builds approved on storefronts so release goes smoothly

There's really not much left at all! That doesn't mean I won't be busy, though. After all, the weekend after release, I'm representing Starfield Gaming at Connecticon 2022! A reminder that I'll be selling merch there for both Entropic Float and Heart Fragment, and if you show proof of ownership of either game you get a free gift! And if you're interested in merch but can't make it to the convention, I'll be selling all the leftovers online afterward.

Until next time, when the game will be available!

Thanks for keeping up on my hard work.

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

EF2 May Update 2: Farewell For Now!

Hello everybody! Welcome to the 5/31 update, the second May update, the final update before the update hiatus begins! And what have I accomplished since the first May update? Not a whole lot, honestly! Attending a large convention is fun but exhausting (Got a little con plague, too), so almost all of the energy I had left went toward working on commissions from etsy. No part of the Kickstarter budget included wages for my time working on the game, so unfortunately, I must still prioritize other work! Even so, ‘not a whole lot’ isn’t the same as ‘nothing at all’! Let’s look at last update’s goals: Finish at least 3 of those Area 4 Backgrounds: This one didn’t happen. All the time I’ve been able to spend at my desk has gone into commissions this period. Sketch some subprimary backgrounds for the areas already done: This one, however, did happen! I sketched all those subprimary backgrounds and even one of the backgrounds for Area 5. The wonders of the sketches being possible anywher...
