EF2 March Update 1: Area 2's Implementation!

Hello everybody! As promised, here’s the March 8th Update. That I couldn't actually get posted till early on March 9th. I haven’t quite had the chance to generate my progress bars yet, but rest assured they would have filled up a good bit in these two weeks if I had! Oh, and while I don’t have any new official art to share with this update, here’s an artfight attack from Chaotic-Error to accompany it~

So, let’s take a look back at the previous list of goals!

  • Create the assets for and implement a Zone (Character-Thematic Minigame) for Area 1, so a piece of Evidence can be acquired with which to open Area 2 : Not completed, postponed. Realized I could use the developer console to skip this for now, and wait to implement all Zones to the fullest of my vision for them.

  • Make travel throughout Area 2 Possible : Done! You can traverse all of it!

  • Add characters into Area 2 : Also done! They don’t have much to say yet, but Bea and Syoko have both been placed into the environments for their first appearances.

So to sum up- I completed two goals and decided to leave the other off for a while now. Regarding Zones- I want to create each one with assets in a different art medium, and while I might have been able to pull something together in this dev cycle, I would rather take my time with these to pull off the idea.

So, instead I got started on some of the next objectives, which remain in play for the next two weeks!

  • Add Objekts into Area 2 (Sketched some of the objekts)

  • Sketch backgrounds needed for Area 3 (Sketched 2 of the 6!)

  • Create a map for the ‘Tony’s Rides’ function (Didn’t do anything with this yet!)

Moving along~ Nothing much else to report for now, so thank you for reading, and see you again in two weeks!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...
