EF2 April Update 2: Housekeeping Accomplished!

Hello again! It’s time now for the second April update! We can get started right away with last update’s goals~

  • Finally generate progress bars to use in future updates: Didn’t happen! I knew I’d be away from home for a chunk of this update, and thought this line item would work well for that. Turns out I needed a lot more info from my main machine and paper notes than I realized. Instead, I used that time to draw some refs for the remaining CGss Shoii is working on.

  • Check in with any Kickstarter backer commissions left in the pipe: Done! Still working on figuring out the cameo backer tier with those individuals, but for all remaining commissions I either completed them or reached out for more information.

  • Draw a cute EF doodle for Easter: Done! This was posted to socials, but I’ll also include it in this update after this list!

  • Make a fun little character themes video for the cast of the Beloved Ghost DLC: Also done and posted to socials! This one will go at the end of the update.

  • Add Objekt Reactions for Renfield, Maude, and Prim in Area 3: Done! In fact, I also jumped ahead and put in the reactions for Greta in Area 4 too.

To elaborate a bit more on the progress bars- I’ve determined which numeral metrics to count for each category, to be able to share X out of Y progress, but it turns out I need to dive back into what I’ve coded so far along with my paper notes to actually count up those metrics. Just a data entry task that will at some point get done!

May’s updates will come on the 17th and the 31st - This has an extra weekend between now and the next update again, but since I’ll be attending Anime Boston on the 24th, I’d rather update on the 3rd and 5th Saturdays than the 2nd and 4th. So, what are the goals I’ll be tackling for this upcoming month?

For the next 3 week period:

  • Sketch all 7 primary backgrounds left for Area 4

  • Add planned objekts into Area 3

  • Write Objekt Reactions for Munya and Sharma in Area 4

  • Maybe actually get those progress bars sorted out?

And for what’s left of May: (Considering that I have work and Anime Boston going on between the two updates)

  • Finish at least 3 of those Area 4 Backgrounds

  • Sketch some subprimary backgrounds for the areas already done (There are still locations locked behind puzzles as far back as Area 1 that need drawing!)

Taking it a little easy in the latter portion of the month, but big plans for the start! And who knows, maybe the same thing will happen as this month, and I’ll have all the stretch goals done by the first update? Anything can happen! Thank you, as always, for reading. See you soon!

Entropic Float 2: Character Reveal and Kickstarter Date!

Entropic Float 2... Characters! They're here! The video above shares some songs to help you get the feel on their personalities- And their profiles are available too! I've also been hard at work to get the demo ready before the Kickstarter, which I've decided to launch on 11/11/2023 ! Below, you can see the first talksprite for good ol' Kanatsune Ame. To temper expectations a bit- The demo will only cover the beginning of the game. The 'exposition loop', if you will. Several of these characters won't be appearing yet, and certain loop-related features will, well, not exist because there is no second loop to implement them on. It should, however, give you an idea of what the story's going to be, and how the main point-and-click gameplay will work. Just enough of a taster to let you know that EF2 is worth getting made! And I mean... Even if the Kickstarter fails, I'll make it anyway. It just might take me a good bit longer, and might miss out on some...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
