Entropic Float Biweekly Update #12

Time for Update Twelve. The art this week was commissioned from  Niina on skeb! Not the most relevant image this time, since Peri doesn't actually appear in any of the Rashmi routes... But she's adorable, so don't hold it against me, okay? You also shouldn't hold it against me because, for all but the first two days after my previous update, I've had covid. Omicron's infectivity really is off the charts, and I'm a fragile person, so of course I had loads of symptoms. Nothing serious in the end, thanks to my triple vaccine, and my brainfog's cleared up over the past few days, so I still have some progress to share! Writing: 48/54 segments... That's right, despite spending most of my time sick, working from home during moments of clarity and playing video games during moments of utter fog... I actually wrote the entire Rashmi Noon Route. A big chunk of that was immediately following the last update, but I still doubled my goal of three segments... S...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #11

Would you look at that, it's update eleven! The art this week was commissioned from Mameringo on skeb! An especially fitting piece for this week's update, since the segments I wrote in this development period had a lot to do with the star of the image, Touko Nozomi. I'm still struggling to adjust to the 40 hour work-week, so I don't have quite as much to show for my time... Though as you'll see in this update, I did still meet some of my goals! Can't keep me down that hard. Writing: 42/54 segments written! Another four knocked out. This time, that represents the 'in-between' room, second puzzle, and both endings of Rashmi's morning route. That's right, Rashmi's morning route is officially done! Seven out of nine base routes are now completed. Two more before I can start working on the true ending. And there's still half of January left! Talksprites: No change since last time. Voice Acting: No change since last time Background Music: No ...

Entropic Float Biweekly Dev Update #10

Ten whole updates, and it's been a journey! There's plenty more to go, but I've made loads of progress and streamlined a lot of processes since I began. Let's start things off right today with this beautiful art of Madeline by RabbitProtocol on twitter! This was commissioned for me as a Christmas Gift from my good friend Casper, the Director of Heart Fragment. I got a few lovely pieces from others (and for myself!) as holiday gifts, so there will be more to share in the next few updates too. It's been 3 weeks since the last time I posted instead of the usual 2, so I've got a lot to share! Let's get into it. Writing: 38/54 segments written! Four segments in the gap again. This time it was both of Kanatsun's night endings, then the intro and first puzzle of Rashmi's morning route. May not seem like much for three weeks, but as with before, I have parts of later segments written partially. Notepad doc while at work style! Just because I'm a full tim...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #9

NaNoWriMo is over, and I'm back to usual updates! Next update I've decided to delay to January 2nd, just skipping over the holiday weekend altogether. I should have a lot to share in that update, so I'd really rather not give a haphazard mini update while visiting family, instead sharing a proper update a week late. So what all have I gotten done since last time? It's been a bit of an adjustment now that I work full time, but I've still made notable progress~ Writing: 34/54 segments written! That's four more segments done than last time, but worry not, it's nearly six. I have the majority of both endings of the Kanatsun Night Route written, I just need to fill in some gaps before I can consider either of those segments completed. Depending on how much time I end up having after this blog post, we might just jump from 34 segments to 36 segments before the day is spent. The route's just about done! Talksprites: I've added one talksprite for Rashmi. Tho...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #8 (Mini)

Hello again! It’s time for the second of the two November mini-updates. December may also end up with a mini-update thrown in there depending on how busy my holidays end up being, but other than that, I’ll be going back to the normal formula soon. While traveling, I did contribute a few short fics to my nanowrimo word count. Two of them were things I’d been meaning to write in a private fictional universe between myself and a few friends, but one was a crossover fanfiction where Shinji meets Heart Fragment’s Kay Jamison, available here on my ao3. Besides that, I was able to write 5 more segments; The entire rest of the Kanatsun Noon Route, both endings. I’ve also started the Kanatsun Night Route, but I haven’t quite completed the first segment yet, so I can’t count it. This brings the full count of common route segments up to 30/54. We’re more than halfway there now! With any luck, I’ll be able to keep this up and release the game on schedule. Behind the scenes, I’ve also been able to ...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #7 (Mini)

As I said last time, my November Updates are on the smaller side compared to the usual ones since I want to focus on writing! Here's my progress so far. To move that out of the realm of nebulous wordcounts, I'm currently at 25 segments completed out of 54 segments in the common routes. I'm nearly halfway there! 7 of those segments come from NaNo so far, representing both endings of Kanatsun's morning route and the beginning of the noon route. That's right, Kanatsun's morning route is totally completed! Even if it turns out I don't manage to finish NaNo (It's been something of a struggle so far, as you can see!) I'm pleased to have finished writing one of the routes in record time. I've also made enough progress at this point that I can finally estimate a release date!  It's looking like the game should be completed sometime in May or June. To give myself room for setbacks, I'll be setting my release date at July Ninth, 2022! Don't q...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #6

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! Here we have some lovely themed art of Shinji by Tree Dorothy on Skeb ! This update, I have a few pieces of exciting news! The first is unrelated to the game development itself, but I've recently gotten a new job that should give me more opportunity to work on Entropic Float each weekend. The second, much more relevant update is that I've officially partnered with Starfield Gaming , the developer of Heart Fragment ! While we've already been working together for some time now, Entropic Float will now officially be releasing as a Starfield title when the time comes! And if you're looking forward to that day, I'd definitely recommend giving Heart Fragment a shot in the meantime. It's a Psychological Otome Game that, as of the time of writing this update, has two fully completable routes (with more on the way!) and is 50% off of its usual price, only five dollars for quite a bit of content- And the art is prettier than Entrop...
