Entropic Float Biweekly Update #20

Happy Memorial Day weekend! It's happy for me at least, since I have Monday off of work. This update's art is by Gonya on skeb  . This close to release, I'm running out of anything to share that isn't filled with spoilers, but this art of Amelie is vague enough! Luckily, we only have two more updates between this one and release weekend. Writing: 31/31 standard segments.  36/36 Memory Seeking segments. 7/7 Epilogue segments. That's right. 74/74 segments, 115,000 words in the route for 309,000 total. All written! Actually, I finished last weekend, so the game's been in my beta testers' hands for a week now. I'm very much ahead of schedule at the moment! And since the writing is now done, I can leave this section out of the remaining updates. Background Music: Those two BGM tracks I mentioned last week have been added to the OST Playlist . Both by Enokido. I'm also working on getting a track licensed for the game's end credits. My goal p...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #19

This update's art is from  Katuo on skeb!  Another cute little Peri this time. Like Touko, Peri is one of those characters who seems to have a pretty big appeal to JP artists- When I give people the option to draw any of my characters, she's a frequent choice! It's been a while since the last time I updated. This three-week development cycle to account for a weekend spent away, has still been quite productive! The trailer for Entropic Float also became available since then- Amazingly edited by Casper, the creator of Heart Fragment, Starfield Gaming's other property! Writing: 28/31 standard segments. That's right, I wrote ten of them since last time! This means that there are only three left! 36/36 Memory Seeking segments. I polished off the last two necessary in this category! It's finished! 3/7 Epilogue segments. Yep, I actually also managed to get started on these! And I'm more than halfway done with the fourth segment, too, so we could sa...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #18

This update's art is from  Hirabi on skeb!  Jazz is lovely, isn't she? An individual with a sense of performance! She may be an academic, but that doesn't mean the world can't be a stage for her. When you play the game, I think you may end up being surprised by her- I know I was when I was writing! And speaking of writing, let's get right into the progress this cycle... Writing: 18/31 standard segments. As expected, only three of these this week thanks to some other circumstances- But this still takes us past the halfway point in this category! 34/36 Memory Seeking segments. Eleven since last time, and only two of these left to go! Just in time for the NVL-styled standard segments to start being written when I'm away from my desk, too. We're now at 52/74 segments of the Miracle Route. Just 22 segments left to write before I can get the miracle route to my beta testers! Background Music: I've added four new OST tracks from musical artists on sk...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #17

This update's art is from  Mada on skeb!  A cute little chibi of Rashmi to brighten up your day. As far as the characters in Entropic Float go, Rashmi is probably the most evident of my own character design sensibilities. Short fluffy hair, oversized jackets... Something about that combination, I'm a big fan of it! And oh boy, do I hate how often characters have 'future designs' or 'makeovers' that take perfectly nice fluffy hair and turn it into a straight bob. Anyway, now you know that about me! Let's get into something that matters; My work on the game these past two weeks. Writing: Let's get counting... 15/31 standard segments. I wrote eight more, rocketing my numbers up to nearly halfway in the standard category! I'm pretty pleased with this progress, since the standard sections represent more work than the Memory Seeking ones in regards to programming. 23/36 Memory Seeking segments. Six since the last update~ It could've been more, ...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #16

This update's art is from  Ham Mug on skeb!  Fair warning, this artist does a lot of NSFW art. It's hidden by default if you're not logged in/haven't changed your settings on skeb, but I figured I would disclaim that first! This Madeline really looks amazing. She's so powerful... Though she's a 'side character' to the narrative of Entropic Float, she's a personal favorite of mine! Fun fact, she started out as a fancharacter for Magical Girl Raising Project, but I fell in love with the design and had to repurpose her for an original work~ My progress since last time is pretty solid, so let's go ahead and get right into that! Writing: The majority of what I've done since last time is writing! How much writing? 7/31 standard segments. I misread my own outline last time, and turns out I had 3, not 2, completed at the time. The four segments since then are three puzzle rooms and the landing section between those and the next three. I have 1...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #15

This update's art on display is from Hiyoyo on skeb ! Touko is so cute, isn't she? I've learned from spending time on skeb that she's actually a very appealing character! I've received several requests of people who want to draw her... I'm curious if that's a Japan-specific kind of appeal, or if the english-speaking audience also thinks that she's adorable? Food for thought! My progress since last time isn't the best, unfortunately. Things keep coming up on my weekends... Even when it's good things (it's not always, but often is) there's part of me which just wants to work. Suffering from success. Don't they know the gamedev way is to hermit oneself away for months on end with no regard to maintaining your social circle?? Well, let's get into what I have  accomplished since last time. Writing: I'm doing away with the progress bars for this section because, frankly, I just think it would be annoying. The good news is, I w...

Entropic Float Biweekly Update #14

Here in update fourteen, we've got some lovely chibis of the protagonists by Cabbage Roll on skeb ! You might even be able to look forward to seeing these cuties on some merchandise someday. Merch? For a game that has no following yet? Well, sure! Because I'm going to be representing Starfield Gaming at Connecticon 2022! Semi-Exclusive merch for both Entropic Float and Heart Fragment will be available there, with any leftovers becoming available for sale online post-con. I'll share more details about this exciting event as it draws nearer! With that aside, you're not here to hear about far-off conventions. You're here to hear about the progress I've made on the game! And oh boy, it's a big one. Writing: 54/54 segments!! That's right, I've finished the normal routes! I'm still not even entirely sure how I'll structure tracking my progress through the Miracle Route, but I'm making that outline later today, so I should be able to share ...
